Sony Added PlayStation 2 Backwards Compatibility to PlayStation 4

Backwards compatibility lets the user play last gen games or you can say, previous console games would run on the current console. Recently Microsoft added Xbox 360 backwards compatibility to Xbox One with over 100 games to play and more are on their way. In this way, Xbox 360 game owners won’t have to pay for the titles again on Xbox One. They can simply insert an Xbox 360 disc into Xbox One and enjoy those titles.

Now, Star Wars Battlefront is the latest game in the franchise and Sony even made a Star Wars PlayStation bundle. The bundle includes a fully customized PlayStation 4 inspired by Darth Vader and a customized Dual Shock 4 controller. A hard copy of Star Wars Battlefront and download codes for 4 of the Star Wars games which are known to be extinct. These 4 games are Star Wars:Bounty Hunter, Star Wars: Jedi Star fighter, Star Wars Racer: Revenge and Super Star Wars. These four titles released in the PlayStation 2 era. It’s been over a decade since PlayStation 2 came out and is the most playable console of all time. Star Wars Battlefront released on 17th November 2015 and those who pre-ordered the Star Wars bundle got their PlayStation 4 delivered on the same day. When a player downloaded those four titles and played them, it was very clear that the games are not of this generation and that Sony secretly allowed Backwards compatibility to PlayStation 4.

Although, it is not officially a backwards compatibility because you cannot insert a PlayStation 2 disc  and play but these titles are not of this generation for sure.
